Blackberries

Ah, Summer. One of my favorite parts of the season is picking blackberries! They are so delicious. Sometimes I even eat them right of the bushes, after checking for any bugs, of course. We have quite a lot of raspberry and blackberry bushes. It is a little out of hand, really. Picking the sweet berries can be painful, but the results are oh so worth the effort!



Another wonderful thing about blackberries is making blackberry jelly. I will only ONLY eat my aunt's homemade blackberry jelly. It is... Just so fantastically delicious. Nothing else compares. We make enough of it to share, and to store for the winter months when the bushes are covered in snow, and there are no plump berries waiting to be picked.
