I am revisiting another old friend today. The library! I used to live here during the summers, first of all because I absolutely love books, second for the free WiFi, and third for the air conditioning. Haha! I haven't been here in quite some time and with a free afternoon before me, I decided to spend it here.
It's the same old library. Same smells, same sights. Same librarians, even! Though there are a few new people here. New books, too, of course! As I walked in the front doors I made a beeline for the staircase, and headed to my favorite section.
The tried and true Young Adult section! I absolutely enjoy reading books of all genres, but this section has always been my go-to for the majority of my reading. Plus, there are fun coffeeshop-esque tables here in my library. And big purple butterfly style chairs. Perfect for setting up my laptop and working, as I have done today, or kicking back and reading! I love it here. =)

Project Life: Week One
So, as we have come to the end of the first brand new week of the New Year, I have come to the finish of week one of Project Life 2012! I am absolutely LOVING this! It's so simple to write any thoughts, quotes, or whatever each day and slip them in the book. And I already take a ton of pictures, so it's great to have a reason to print them out!

As I said before, I am approaching this on a week-by-week basis. I've added journal cards and other little things daily, but I printed all of the photos today. I also added any finishing touches, such as rounding corners, this evening. It seemed fitting to me to add a caption card for the photos. I'm not sure if I'll do that every week, but I liked the idea this week! =)
Keeping a record of all the positive and fun happenings really helped me look back at the week and realise how truly blessed we are!

Project Life: Title Page
Well HELLO again, dear blog! It seems that I come and go quite sporadically, eh?
I've started a wonderful project, Project Life, by Becky Higgins. I guess you could say it is a scrapbooking project? More memory keeping than scrapbooking, I would say. Anyways. Everyone uses Project Life differently, and I've decided to approach it using a week-by-week method to tell the story of my/his/our life this year! I am really really excited for this as I ADORE memory keeping, but don't really always have the time/energy/motivation to sit down and scrapbook! =)
I'd like to share the title page of my little project:
Simple. No fuss. Just as my goal for the project is overall. I think the ease of it all will really help me keep up with it, unlike the stacks, envelopes, and boxes of photos I have waiting to be added to a scrapbook layout... =)

I do love the weekend!
The weather was so beautiful this weekend! I spent the majority of it outside and with friends!
Saturday we went hiking in the park, then we went to the beach. We also saw Never Say Never! You know, the Justin Bieber movie?! For $3! I have to give it to the kid. He's very talented! He is also extremely passionate about music, and has been from a young age. He's an inspiration, really, but I'll admit that I didn't like him much before. Then I realised, who am I to hate on him? He's doing what he loves and is fortunate to be able to make a living doing it! I respect that.
Sunday was spent at another park! This time we brought a blanket and did some serious reading after a short hike through the woods. (I'm reading Water for Elephants!) We also played a pretty mean game of Scrabble, which I won. Woohoo! =D We wrote a super silly story by each taking turns writing a sentence. Haha! I enjoy doing nerdy things like that. Then we had dinner at our favorite Mexican place, and after that met up with some more friends at Applebee's. Just to hang out and catch up, though, since we already ate! Since the weather was still super lovely, we came back to my house for some drinks and conversation. Always a fun time!
I finally got a chance to wear the Polos I bought over the winter! I hadn't wanted to ruin them by wearing them in the snow or anything like that! By the way, all of these photos were processed using the Instagram app on my iPhone. I seriously love it! Best app I never paid for. Gotta love free stuff! =)
I hope you had as splendid of a weekend as I did!

20 things to do!
This is a repost from my favorite blog Little Chief Honeybee! It was so fun that I had to share! =)
Twenty Things I'd Like To Do!
1. Go on a search for as many good climbing trees as possible, climb as high as we both can in all of them, compile photo evidence
2. Go to a major chain bookstore, and leave notes to future readers in copies of our favorite books
3. I'll dress up as a ghost and you dress up us Pacman. Walk around downtown holding hands, and whenever anyone sees us, pretend to be embarrassed, and run off screaming “wocka wocka wocka.”
4. Create photo evidence suggesting that we went on an adventure that didn’t really happen
5. Dress up as superheroes and stop at least one petty crime “ie. jaywalking, littering….”
6. Build forts out of furniture and blankets, and wage war with paper airplanes.
7. Try and visit as many people as we can in one night, and turn as many things inside their apartment upside down as we can, without them noticing.
8. Go to the airport, get the cheapest, soonest departing flight to anywhere when we show up, and stay there for a weekend.
9. Write a piece of fiction together. Outside at a cafe. Ask strangers when we get stuck.
10. Dress to the nines, pretend to be married, and test drive very expensive vehicles at an auto dealership.
11. Do the lamest tourist thing in our area that we have both secretly wanted to do forever. Have an unabashed good time!
12. In the middle of the night, drive to the beach, so we arrive just as the sun is rising. Have a breakfast picnic, then fall asleep together. Bring a sun umbrella.
13. Drive somewhere unknown and have dinner in a city we’ve never been to. With fake names.
14. Go to a minor league baseball game under the stars. Tell each other stories about how bad we are at athletics. Randomly cheer for both teams. Eat lots of Cracker Jacks.
15. Go around the city with sidewalk chalk and draw hearts with equations inside on random things
16. Walk around a city and perform short silent plays in front of security cameras
17. With camera and pair of boots, make photolog of a day in the life of the invisible man.
18. Walk around the city all night and find a place to eat breakfast at dawn
19. Go to a restaurant and convince the cook to create something completely new for us.
20. Rent a movie we’ve never seen before. Set on mute and improvise dialogue.

Urg!
Today was a little bit of a rough day! It started out alright, and then as I was driving my check engine light came on and my engine was all jumpy and such! Obviously not good. So I stopped at my mother's work and had her look at it. She told me I need transmission fluid and oil. Okay... So I stopped at the Auto Parts store and got that. Although I was embarrassed to admit it, I told the guys there that I had no idea how to put either thing in my car. So after some joking around at my expense, someone finally came out to help. He even showed me how to check everything and put everything in... And all of the technical terms, you know. I'm kind of like an expert now. Just kidding, of course. Hahaha! But the guys at the shop were all very nice.
So then the problem was solved, I thought. Not so much... The light came back on during my drive home this evening and the engine started jumping again. Urrg. So hopefully I can get it checked out tomorrow. If it's a serious problem, I don't know what it means for my new job! I'm supposed to start Monday. It's about a 45 minute commute one way. If I can't rely on my car to get me there every day, I don't know what I'll do!
It was very hard to keep a positive attitude today, that's for sure. But anyways, that's enough negativity. I'm sure everything will work out in the long run!
I did have a pretty good day between the troubles! I had dinner with a friend at Subway. Then we went to Michael's craft store to pick up some new drawing supplies for me! I always find other fun odds and ends, like these adorable flowers! I'm sure I could make them myself, so I didn't buy any, but they are still super cute!
After that, we made a trip to Target, just for funsies, where we found a set of Disney Princess dolls! Please excuse my appearance in this photo. I was HIGHLY excited!! I love the Disney Princesses! Actually, I pretty much love all things Disney! =)
I also found these neat-o Hello Kitty Easter eggs! How cute are they?!
We then ended up at Arabica, a coffee place by our school. I always get a blended turtle mocha! Delicious! We played a couple of games of Scrabble, with him winning once and me winning once. That's when we came out to find my car troubles we not yet over, as I thought they were. Hopefully tomorrow will bring good news as far as all that goes!!
